Happy Nude Year!
Kicking off a Year of Performing! The first week of the New Year is complete with 3 shows in the bag!
If this is an indication of how the rest of my year will be then I am very happy indeed! After a year of soul searching it's been clear that performing is my calling! So this year I intend to put my best dancing foot forward and get out there in this world of Burlesque!
I started the first week of the year with 3 very unique shows and came in contact with a few amazing people… Here is a bit of a recap :)
* SPEAKEASILY *
Thursday evening I walked into the studios of TradioV for my first on-camera experience for Odessa Lil's internet show SPEAKEASILY - the bay area's Burlesque talk show … I walk into the lobby greeted by a very warm crew and Odessa looking fierce in her patent leather corset, black beret, boots and riding crop! They show me to a nice, big greenroom (literally with a green sheet on the back wall), where Randy Johnson is there with his band mates Los Shimmy Shakers and Elyse Elaine is applying her bright, bold, purple and turquoise makeup.
We have some time to get ready and chit-chat, drink champagne and eat snacks. I surprised myself by feeling very at ease.
Walking into the studio, I am immediately overwhelmed by all the cameras that catch you at every angle and finally realize that it's best to just look straight ahead and try not to worry about the other 10 or so surrounding me. I do one of my favorite numbers "Smooth Operator" then run over to cover my boobies in 30 seconds to start the interview.
After reviewing the video I realized that I giggled quite a lot! Something I just can't help! I do it when I am nervous … and that my eyelashes were way too big! But other than that it was such a great experience. I would definitely do it again! Keep an eye out for my next appearance!!
And if you are a burlesquer make sure you stop by! It's a great opportunity to get experience on camera and promote yourself!

* LYNX BAWDY VAUDEVILLE SHOW *
Saturday was a great adventure to Pacifica to perform at Winters Tavern to kick off Lynx the Animator's first BAWDY VAUDEVILLE SHOW! I prepped myself early for a ride from one of the stars of the show Shyloh Demille who was coming up from LA and through my town of Oakland to pick me up. She arrives and as I open the van door 3 other beauties appear! One of which was Veronica Van Tassels, the headliner of the show!!
It appears that some of them just met each other that day as well and decided to do a short and sweet roadtrip up just for the show. I immediately felt welcomed and was excited for the day ahead! BUT FIRST - Shyloh had to pop by her favorite store on Haight street Ceiba - since the girls only had the day to pass through the city.
It was a rainy day but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves! After stopping by Haight we headed over to Pacifica to get primped and pampered at New York Nails 2 … Then over to the house we were staying at overnight to freshen up a bit before heading over to the venue.
We arrive at Winters Tavern to see a remodeled stage with red curtains and spotlighting! Lynx worked really hard the last few months to redo the venue. There was also space for us to dress up! Previous burlesque shows there had closet space for the performers and now we had a whole back section for us to spread out and get ready!
I met the rest of the performers - Scarlet Conte, Candy Pie & Sabastian Stone at the venue … The show started & I could tell it was gonna be a ball! Lynx & his right-hand-man-on-the-keyboards Tae were cracking jokes… Popcorn was passed out and the place was packed! I wish I could go into more detail about each act but I do believe everyone went out of their way to offer something different and unique. It was a top notch variety show with burlesque beauties of many sizes and shapes thrown in with magic, fire eating, and old school jams!
I will be back again in February! But you can also go to the next show January 19 - featuring my burlesque sisters (and roomates!) Minnie Cupcakes & Pink Flamingo … and many MORE!!!

* HOT PINK FEATHERS SHOW @ GREAT AMERICAN MUSIC HALL *
To end off the first week of performing, my last gig was with my troupe the Hot Pink Feathers (directed by the one-and-only KELLITA!) at the Great American Music Hall! One of the perks of doing private gigs is the FOOD!! Yes showgirls should never be hungry! This event had a nice buffet. It was a private company party who really knows how to treat their employees!
I presented a solo and group number sharing the stage with - Isis Starr! La Chica Boom! Alotta Boutte! Mynx d'Meanor! Jim Sweeney as MC & Oleander Moon as Kitten… And of course Joyce Tang as Stage Manager for the night. A stellar cast for an audience that is not really a burlesque audience. I think they may have been confused rather than entertained… But hey! That's how it goes sometimes in Showbiz!
The day after I wish I could've slept in but I had to wake up to get to work (as a crew member) and help out in another big production - The San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival! I will talk more about that later…. But for now I hope you enjoyed my first post! Can't wait for the year ahead and will update again soon!!
XO! LOVE!
