What a month! March has been active and extremely productive in many areas of my life! I had some scary moments but in the end it all worked itself out! I am happy to say my life is more balance and I am developing in great leaps as a performer and a professional … I had a variety of great events lined up and also accepted an awesome day job that compliments my dance life! Here are just a few of the great events that happened this month:
HUBBA HUBBA REVUE * HUBBACABANA *
I had the honor of being on the March flyer for the Hubbacabana show - illustrated by Casey Castille!
If there is any show that introduced me to the wonderful world of SF burlesque, it would have to be the Hubba Hubba Revue! Before I became a soloist, I started out here as a gogo dancer for their shows at DNA Lounge! I had a chance to get to know weirdos (like ME!!), dance DANCE dance (!!!) drink DRINK drink (!!!) and watch an awesome show. The execution of themes, the way Kingfish pumps up the crowd and the energy of all the performers that have a passion for the art reflect why this show has been going and going for many years!
This was also a great show because it reflected a homecoming for HHR at Broadway Studios in North Beach (apparently this is where the Hubba Hubba Revue STARTED many moons ago)!! I danced with my showgirl sisters, the Hot Pink Feathers and with our friends the East Bay Brass Band!! Got to see Ray Gunn dazzle and dance on a POLE! Wear the BANANA outfits I made for Carnaval 2010 and a big ass YELLOW afro … AND dance 2 more times! WHOO! Did I mention, I am still recovering :P

BURLESQUE MOULIN @ BISCUITS & BLUES!!
March 10th was the big premiere of "Midnight in Paris" … a Burlesque Moulin Production at Biscuits & Blues! So far the experience has been enchanting and engaging! I love that everyone is so diverse in their talents and that each person has worked so hard to develop special acts and create a unique show! March 17th brought in our first guest performer Kellita - and that reflected a new energy compared to the first show. This show is constantly evolving and challenging me to express myself with more verve and vivacity. For my solo, I get to dance with a LIVE 6 piece band to one of the greatest Jazz songs! I never would have thought that this song matches my personal style so perfectly! If only I had endless energy, I would dance to this song much much longer! (YOU will have to come to the show to find out which song it is) … I am so happy that this is what I get to do EVERY Sunday for the next two months!

HOT PINK FEATHERS * SHOWGIRL AWAKENING *
Class is IN SESSION at the new feather dance studio (City Annex) in SOMA!!! We are rehearsing and preparing for SF Carnaval 2013 (and events to follow)!!!
A great change this season is that we are much more developed as far as choreography and costuming * YES! I even had a chance to do a shoot with Kellita & Lily Diamond in our new costumes (minus some rhinestones) and work with photographer Jeff Spirer! This year we are paying homage to old-timey showgirls, incorporating BOAS into the dance and/or wearing them as bustles … And in the first class, we already got to learn * almost * the full choreo for one of our songs :)
I can already tell that this is gonna be a great year!! It's wonderful to hug, dance and reconnect with the seasoned ladies and see how their lives have evolved as well as meet newcomers who are looking for a way to be sexy, have fun, enjoy the experience with their best friends and/or feel fabulous!
We are still accepting showgirls to the program! So go here to find out more: www.showgirlawakening.com … and/or email Kellita for questions about the program :)

RED HOTS BURLESQUE * DEBUT *
HOORAY!! I finally booked my first appearance at Red Hots Burlesque (which has weekly shows every Wednesday & Friday at El Rio in SF)
What a wonderful show! I always have a good time attending RHB but haven't had a chance to dance there yet since starting my solo career … To my surprise, Dottie also wondered why it took so long, but finally I did my first show and was cast with one of my favorite people - my Burlycon 2011 roommate - Pearl E Gates (!!!) and Bunny Pistol, Trixie Fou Laurant and Alexa Von Kickinface … and of course Dottie Lux! Dottie is such a great comedian and I still wonder why more people don't know about her! She manages to express her dirty thoughts yet be feminine, glamorous and glittery at the same time!
I can't wait for my next appearance which is coming up on Wednesday, April 3rd and later in the month as well :)

CREEPY KOFY MOVIETIME TAPING @ THE STUDIOS OF KOFY TV20
The day of Hubbacabana, I performed a number at the taping for Creepy KOFY Movie Time! I danced once again with a live band, the DEADLIES! It was a chance for me to choreograph something to surf music (another style that seems to suit me very well) ** Side note: What I discovered was that I was incorporating some movements from Filipino dance as it reflects fierceness and power, so definitely gonna bring that into my future choreographies as well **
This was definitely a new experience dancing in the middle of the day, under bright lights with a TV audience and cameras everywhere, but I definitely had a great time! The hosts Balrock and No Name are really silly, the cavegirls are all super hot and all the other guest performers were weird and hilarious (LOVE!!) … The show airs on a special day * 420 * so tune in to KOFY for the movie, the show & a little bit of me!!!
** Well that's just a little bit of what happened this month … with April and the start of Spring, I approach life with confidence and an understanding that there is still more room to learn * GROW & BLOSSOM * as a performer and in ALL areas of my life! **
